Terms and Conditions

• You hold the appropriate qualifications / have attended the relevant training for the activities you teach
• If you are purchasing a PRO-insured membership and are self-employed, your public liability is only covered if you are registered as a sole trader
• Where required, you hold the appropriate licence or membership to deliver the activities you teach
• You are committed to on-going training and continuous professional development
• You adhere to industry regulations on the use of music in public places (e.g. PPL & PRS)*
• You hold the relevant professional insurance for your activities*
• If working with children, young people and/or adults at risk on a regular, unsupervised basis (once a month or more), you possess an enhanced Disclosure & Barring Scheme Check carried out within the last 2-years*
• You have appropriate First Aid provision in place, either via ensuring there is adequate first aid cover in place where you teach or, by holding a valid First Aid Certificate dated within the last 2 years.
• You are a UK resident

Currently if you have only attended short courses or CPD without a base qualification OR have achieved only dance participation grades (not teaching) then you aren’t covered by EMD UK Associate Membership package. Getting qualified enables you to earn more money, work at more venues and pay lower premiums for insurance. Visit EMD UK Training to find out more and to access funding for your training.

Please note: EMD UK insurance doesn’t currently cover the following activities: Aerial classes (all) e.g. aerial yoga and skills, Box Fit (contact) Boxing Coaching (ring work, punch bags etc) Circus Skills, Physiotherapy, Sling Fit, Sports Training/Coaching (any sport) Pole Dancing, Cheer Leading (stunts), Acrobatics, Gymnastics, Cross Fit, Martial Arts (any), Trampolining and Parkour.

Please also note: The insurance upgrade packages offered by EMD UK can only be sold in combination with, or alongside a valid membership package.  If you purchase an PRO membership Package and you wish to upgrade this to include insurance, you may do so at any time, providing you continue to maintain and renew the PRO Membership Package for the period of your upgrade.  This can be done at the time of upgrade on a pro rata basis by contacting the office, or at the yearly renewal date online.

After purchasing EMD UK membership packages, there is a 14 day cooling off period, where a full refund can be issued. After this time all packages are strictly non-refundable.
